Trend: Texture
Interior designers are embracing organic elements, earthy colors, and lavish textures like never before. “People are very curious about materials right now. I’m seeing a lot of veiny stone, plaster and wallpaper”, says Hema Persad of Sagrada Studio.
Considering the textural dynamic of your bathroom space is as much of a treat for your eyes as it is for your fingertips. Texture allows you to focus your design on a monochromatic palette without feeling bland, and it makes it easier to layer like-materials with intentionality. Start with your statement piece - for instance a bold marble vanity - and surround it with contrasting textures, and complementary tones. Rectilinear tiles that pick up on the dark veining of the stone, matte fixtures, limewash walls or blouse-like wallpaper. If you think about the most inspiring bathroom spaces you've been in - whether in a hotel, a restaurant or the home of a good friend - the fine balance of texture likely played a key role in the memorable design.
Trend: Bold Patterns and Mixed Metals
Designers love to make a big statement in a bathroom with wallpaper. Many of our designs incorporate a variety of textures and eye catching patterns, elevating ordinary walls into works of art. “Bathrooms are the perfect place to incorporate bold patterns in tile or wallpaper and mixing of metal finishes across hardware”, says designer Martha Lopacki.
Trend: Sophisticated Colors
Incorporate rich and impactful color through tile, paint and wallpaper to create a welcoming luxury bathroom space. Our Ossington Collection features high variation blush porcelain ceramic tiles that bring warmth and charm, while a custom green vanity adds a touch of whimsy to the classic deco design. The Parsons Collection includes a handmade chinoiserie motif wallpaper inspired by vibrant Art Deco prints, making this striking half bathroom space simply irresistible.
“For bathrooms and across the board, people are truly embracing color. I’m finding that homeowners are down to do more daring things and are viewing bathrooms as an extension of their home versus a purely functional space. People are more open to infusing elements that fit within the broader aesthetic in their home, and want bathrooms that feel inviting”, says Emma Berly Kemper of Emma Beryl Interiors.
